University Square Bakery & Deli is proud to have donated 817.0 pounds of goods to Chalmers' Food Pantry.
"Your support is greatly appreciated and comes at an important time. By June 1 of this year, we welcomed 303 new guests to our Food Pantry - this compares to only 192 new guests by the same time last year. What's more, our total guest visits for the first half of 2023 reached 8,515 - a 44% increase from the previous year," Jane Wood, Chair of Chalmers Board of Directors, shared in a letter.
Wood added in the letter that one in seven Guelph households had been experiencing food insecurity even before this year's inflationary increases.
"University Square Bakery & Deli, thank you," Wood concluded. "Your support helps Chalmers to continue working towards our vision: to create a world without poverty, where communities are flourishing with dignity, equality, and food security for all."
